Katherine M. Gargiulo has served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Second Circuit Court District since May of 2022. She is a lifelong resident of Gulfport. In 2017, Katherine graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Political Science, and in 2020, she received her Juris Doctorate Degree from Mississippi College School of Law. During her last year of law school, Katherine externed in former District Attorney Joel Smith’s office, practicing under Mississippi’s Limited Practice Act.
During her time in at Mississippi College School of Law, Katherine served as Technical Editor of the Law Review Executive Board and Problems Editor of the Moot Court Executive Board. Katherine was elected and served as the American Bar Association Representative of the Law Student Bar Association Executive Board.
After law school and prior to being employed with the District Attorney’s Office, Katherine clerked for Mississippi Supreme Court Justice David M. Ishee and then spent the following year in private practice. Katherine is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, the Mississippi Prosecutor’s Association and the Harrison County Bar Association, and has served on the Mississippi Bar’s Professionalism Committee.
