I want to commend Hancock County DA’s Office Manager/Victim Assistance Coordinator Sandy Belcher, Bay St. Louis Investigator Dustin Weir, and ADA Jeremy Necaise for their incredible work in securing a conviction and a sentence of two life sentences plus 40 years.
This case involved a mass shooting at an after-prom party where two teenagers lost their lives and four others were injured—an absolutely senseless and horrendous crime that affected an entire community.
Investigator Weir handled this case from the night it occurred all the way through sentencing, and his work was invaluable. Sandy and Jeremy worked tirelessly with the victims and their families throughout this incredibly difficult process. The devastation suffered by the families who lost loved ones and by the surviving victims is unimaginable, but the love, strength, and perseverance they have shown throughout this case have been truly remarkable.
