Jason Josef attended Millsaps College, where he graduated cum laude in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish. In 2006, he received a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law, graduating cum laude. He was admitted to practice law in Mississippi the same year and thereafter, he worked at the Mississippi Court of Appeals in Jackson. During his time at the Court of Appeals, he served as law clerk for the Honorable David Ishee and the Honorable David Chandler. Jason has served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Second Circuit Court District since 2009.
