Meaghan J. Smith is an Assistant District Attorney for Harrison County assigned to the Biloxi office. Meaghan graduated from Colorado State University in 2016, majoring in Criminology and received her law degree from Mississippi College in 2019. While in law school, Meaghan served as co-chair of the Moot Court board.
Upon graduation from law school, Meaghan moved to Georgia, joining the Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office. There, Meaghan prosecuted felony matters from the investigation stage, through felony jury trials and post-conviction appellate litigation. Meaghan served as an Intervention court prosecutor and the Troup County District Attorney Representative for the child abuse multi-disciplinary team.
Before joining the Harrison County District Attorney’s office in August of 2023, Meaghan served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the state of Mississippi, prosecuting Child Exploitation cases. Meaghan is currently a Board Member of the Mississippi Prosecutors Association and is admitted to practice law Mississippi and Georgia.
